Professional Studies ( Plagiarism )

Plagiarism is when someone has taken your work and tried to claim it as their own or has tried to change the work in small aspects and then tried to re produce it as their own, plagiarism is one of the biggest things that illustrators and anyone in the creative industry's need to look out for, not only does it stop you from getting some noticed but it can also stop people from paying you to create work when someone can get paid cheaper to do the same thing you would of done by stealing your own work.
People get copyright, plagiarism and trademarking mixed up. plagiarism is were you take the credit for someone else work and try to pass it off as your own with minor changed or no changes at all, copyright is when a company or group uses your design without your authorization and trade marking is when someone uses your logo or name of product on their own product.
One of the biggest culprits for plagiarism is the clothing company known as Primark, they have been taken to court numerous times and they will be taken to court well on into the future until plagiarism is sorted out.

Here are some examples of plagiarism.
Samantha Beeston was a university student who had won awards for her designs and patterns but it all changed for her when people released that she had plagiarized Lauren Nassefs illustrations and in a result of this she had been stripped of her rewards and title and kicked out of her university and when it comes to plagiarism Samantha was let of lightly.
