Abby Cook is most known for her fashion illustrations but she also creates beautiful and original reportage pieces, her way of creating and positions her reportage illustrations is by drawing them from a looking up view and this is an original way of illustrating in general not just original to reportage style. She uses large amounts of detail and her lines may not be straight or precise but they are all in proportions with the image that she is drawing. She also illustrates buildings of different types of paper and over laps them to create one hole collage of a buildings that consists with different depths and textures.
Here Abby has creates a collage made up out of photographs and illustrations in the style of reportage to create one hole scenery of a town and has used different papers and over layered them to add shape to each of the illustrations and she has then added more detail into the illustrations.

Reportage ( Artist Lottie Stoddart )
Lottie uses the illustration style known as reportage, but the difference between her style and most other illustrators who use reportage is how she uses a lot of precision in her lines and adds details to all her images and I personally Havant seen to many reportage illustrators who do this. From most of her pieces it seems that she mainly uses pencil and colouring pens to add the colour and shading to the illustrations.
Out of all the illustrations that I have seen from Lottie this is by far my favourite because of how she hasn't used many lines to create the shape of the cannons and the positions of each one of them fits with each position of the piece. I think from looking at her art work its made me realise that to add detail to the illustrations you don't need fancy line work, all you need is to use some simple shapes to recreate the certain aspect of the image or object.

Reportage ( Artist Rob Conway )
Rob Conway is a illustrator who specialises in reportage, in his most famous pieces of work that he has created he has added a element of humour through over lapping pictures of real people and combining them with illustrations of people in the style of reportage. What I find most interesting about his work is how he uses inks and water colours in his illustrations and how he adds the colour to the images quickly without thinking and this helps add texture and depth to the image.
Here he has done a illustrations of a builder and he has then placed a head, hands and shoes onto the illustration. I think that this way of working with reportage is unique and stands out from the crowd.
What I like most about this illustration is how the body of the builder is so out of proportion it almost looks like a different creature, the way he has used the fading effect of over used inks to be used as lighting on the image works well and adds details to such a simple illustration.

Animals and creatures Illustrations ( Artist Martin Hargreaves )
Martin Hargreaves specialises in illustration, editorial and advertisement, he is now located in Winchelsea Sussex.
I personally don't find most of his illustration work appealing due to how he uses a element of satire and adds it to iconic illustrations and paintings from the past and recreate them in his own way and to me i do not find it too appealing.
Here he has done a illustration of a earth worm with a horror / fantasy element to it and this is shown by the huge mouth filled with carnivorous teeth and tenticles surrounding the mouth. He has put the illustration of the worm inside a illustration of a book, and this gives the hole illustration an intellectual effect because it seems to be giving the person information about this fantasy creature.
In my opinion this image works well in a hole because i find illustrations of fantasy creatures and stuff to do with horror very appealing and I like how the illustration its self isn't to detailed but how he has coloured in and shaded the creature he helps bring it off the page.

Digital manipulation - final outcomes 2/4 ( extremists against scientist )
For this final digital piece i was attempting to do a satire piece which i have explained in a previous blog post. I have done a illustration of the scientist that had landed a piece of equipment onto a comet and got insulted and abused by a small group of extremists. I would like to point this out before i carry on that i have nothing against feminists it i just a small group of extremists that i thought to use in my piece of satire.
Here is my illustration of the scientist that I have created, I have used finer liners and water colours to create this image and i like hope i have given him a pet lip to give him a very disappointed and upset look to him.
Here is my illustration of the group of extremist feminists and I have aimed to give them the position of a hydra by how they are all close together and almost creating one body but has 4 heads. I have given one of them a sign that says " I HATE MALES " and i was wondering wether to do or not to do this because it could offend a group of people but i am not aiming this at feminists, not at the slightest i am aiming this at the small group of extremists that were involved in the incident.
Here I have used 3 strips of colour similar colours with a low opacity, the reason I had done this is because I was aiming to create a light to dark shade from the sky to the ground but with each piece of colour blending together. I have then added shadows to each of the characters to where they will be placed.
This is my final piece of digital piece and my piece for satire. I like how both the images work well together. My only problem with the image is that the background looks to rushed and doesn't have much detail and colour to it.

Reportage ( Artist George Butler )
George Butler is one of the most known reportage illustrators right now and he has achieved this by his use of dip pens, inks and water colours. Each line that he creates has its own unique characteristic and movement. In the illustration style reportage, George Butler inspires me hugely by how he brings each one of his pieces to life and really captures the moment within the illustration.
In my opinion this is his most impressive piece of work because of how all the line structure flows and hour the colours add depth to the hole image.

Digital manipulation - Final outcome 1/4 ( Pepsi bottle illustration )
Here I have created a illustrations of a plastic drinks bottle that has used a mixture of fineliners and pro markers. When i have used the pro markers, I havent blended in any of the colours because i thought using a lighter colour to fill in the illustrations, and using a bold dark colour to point out certain sections of the bottle, gives the illustrations a very retro comic book like effects. I think it works very well together. I like how the colours almost make the drink look like it is a vanilla and chocolate flavoured drink, when in actual fact it is pepsi.
Here is my illustration of the pepsi bottle and this is what it looked like after I had scanned it in but before i made any digital changes to.
Here I have duplicated the image of the pepsi bottle 6 times to create 1 quater of a circle. I will be creating the full circle to create a pattern of the illustration.
For this section of digital I havent really edited it hugely, all I have done is duplicate the pattern and place it next to the original image to create a half circle.
Here I reflected the second image and placed it next to the original so it creates the upper half of the circle, I think that the pattern is starting to come together.
Here is the final pattern of the illustration and I really like how the shape doesn't represent a perfect circle, in fact it looks more like a oval then a circle and I think that the fact I have done this gives the pattern more character and much more enjoyable to look at. My only problem with it is that it needs some sort of background and I am thinking of just a plain black to work with the gold like effect from the illustrations.
Now this is the final product of the pattern that i have created and i think the shape works really well and the use of a black background and it really brings out the colour and detail within the illustration. I overall am very pleased with the final outcome of this pattern.

Book Of Drawings ( How To Bind A Hardback Book )
Hardback book binding is a old and ancient art craft.
I dont think i will follow this guide all the way through because i want to use my own imagination to create something that i can call my own design and not take credit from other peoples designs. I am thinking of making my book front cover into a window to represent the illustrations that i have started to produce, how i will bind the book together so far is a mystery to me but i am thinking of creating curtains for the windows and using ghe excess fabric to bind the spine.
I will be using the measurements that are used for A4 hard back books.
The measurements for A4 paper is 210 mm X 280 mm so I will need to increase the size of the cardboard that builds up the hardback of the book by about 10 or 20 mm on each side. I am thinking of cutting up the cardboard in top strips and then put straws over the top of the cardboard to create the strength of the straws and combine all the straws together to create a A4 hardback of straws or I will use electrical tape to wrap up the hardback and help create an urban effect to the outer look of the book.

Here is the video of the tutorial that i will be following to create my hardback book.

Book Of Drawings ( Artist Shailesh Khandeparkar )
Shailesh Khandeparkar is a free lance illustrator who is located in Mumbai. I really like his work because of how all of his illustrations have a natural / organic element to them and how he makes some of them feel like it is part of a scrapbook and both of these techniques that he uses interest me.
This is my favourite illustration that he has created and it is of an elephant that is built up out of detailed leaves and vines and other natural foliage, with all the elements that stand out of this illustration it all says to me that animals are one of the only natural things there are left on the planet.
I think he has uses a fine liner to create separate parts of the leaves and plants and then moved them into Photoshop and copy and pasted the same design on top of each other and eventually built up the shape of the elephant.
