Narrative Evaluation
During the narrative unit it is safe to say i have struggled with the research, experimentation and the final out comes. At the beginning of the unit i started off strong with large amounts of research on illustrators who have re created Dracula and also looking at different movies that have used the story of Dracula in their own way whether it was them re creating Dracula or if they were just using the idea of vampires to create the film.
During the time i was experimenting i had the first idea of creating Dracula in a cartoon style that would look either whacky or crazy with the inspiration from the cartoons, Looney Tunes, Tom and Jerry and many more, but the further a long i went with the experimentation i started to create more detailed drawing and i received constructive criticism from my peers and tutors on trying to improve and carry on developing the more detailed illustrations, at this point of the unit i started to fall behind with the amount of work that i was creating, because i lost some motivation when i switched styles because i felt like all the work i produced previously was useless and didn't amount to anything.
During development i slowly started to get my rhythm back with the work that i was producing, i created 2 final illustrations that i was proud of, one was of Dracula's face and the other was Dracula's castle in Transylvania, but at this point i started to run out of time and the deadline was getting closer so i started focusing more on having the work complete then to a standard that i like personally.
During this evaluation i have realised that i enjoy drawing more detailed illustrations and from this point on i will carry on trying to improve my more detailed work and spend more time on the illustrations. The bad side to this unit was definitely the timer management i started to fall behind really early into the unit and i didn't really manage to catch all the way back up and the quality of my work, whether it was the development of the thumb nails or if it was some of the finals the quality dropped dramatic for both then from when i original started this unit, mu goal to improve in the next 2 and a bit years is to learn how to do time management effectively and keeping to my work schedules instead of being distracted from other works.
