Professional Studies ( Agencies )

their are 2 different types of agencies for illustration, in one of the agency styles you could work under the company's brand and have to follow the industry's style, whether its color, text or positioning, were if you worked freelance under the agency name you will be advertised by the agencies, be offered work from people who go to the agency and you will be able to work in your own style.

I cant personally see my self being a part of a company or a agency, because i wouldn't really want to have a percentage of my pay taken away from me even if i do work from what i have found my self without the help of the agency, but if i was to work for a agency i would want it to give me a large amount of freedom for my work.

Thats a link to a agency that if i was going to work for a agency id like to work for one that is like that. The agency known as folio mainly contains illustrators who mainly go down the route of cartoon like illustration instead of creating realism, i am not saying that realism isn't a part of the agency but if you look their is more illustrations in a cartoon style then their is in realism, so this agency looks like it is aimed more at appealing to children then it is adults.

One of the artists that works for the agency is, Gabriel Corbera. Her work focuses on more childrens books, comics and cartoons then it does for stuff such as advertisement, one thing that i have picked up on is that she works in a style that almost makes all of her characters look like clowns or part of a circus from the shape of the face and the colors used in the nose.

When you want to be a part of a agencie you will need to find ways on how to represent your self and your style so it helps you stand out and the agencies will give you some commisions where if your work wasn't to noticeable they would give you a smaller percentage of work while someone else gets more, but when you do get your work noticed you have another herdel to over come, that is what type of illustrator do you want to be known as?, whether its illustrations for sci-fi, horror, kids books, how fast you can create the illustration or how much detail in the development is needed, so when you enter a agencie you need to have most of these things figured out so you could survive in the agencie.
